Members of the St. Thomas Aquinas College Women’s Lacrosse team laced up their sneakers and headed to Overpeck County Park in Leonia, New Jersey on the first weekend of the academic year to help support and raise awareness for a cause that is near and dear to their hearts.
The team took part in the Children’s Brain Tumor Foundation’s Mad Hatter Walk, New Jersey to raise awareness and funds for programs and research for families impacted by a childhood brain tumor. The foundation, which began in 1988 by dedicated parents, physicians and friends centers its mission around looking to improve the treatment, quality of life and long term outlook for children with brain and spinal cord tumors through research, support, education and advocacy to families and survivors.
Joining the Lady Spartans on their walk through Overpeck Park was “little sister” Molly Kimball. Molly, who the squad adopted through the Friends of Jaclyn program several years ago in support of her on-going and courageous battle with childhood cancer, also had several friends and family members by her side as she took part in the day’s events.
